Frequently asked questions
Where does the data come from, and how often is it updated?
Park, visitor center, and alert data comes from the National Park Service's own public data feeds and syncs daily. Station-level hours are layered on top from NPS structured data where it exists, and from community reports where it doesn't. As of this writing, 582 of the 1,015 mapped stamp stations have a confirmed hours source; the remaining 433 are marked "Hours Unknown" until someone verifies them.
How do I report wrong hours, a moved stamp, or a missing station?
Open the station's detail page in the app and use the report/correct action to flag what's wrong — hours, location, whether the stamp still exists, or after-hours availability. Reports are reviewed before they update the shared map, so it may take a little time to appear for other users.
How do I delete my data?
Stamp Rescue doesn't use accounts, so there's nothing to "log out" of, but your visit logs, photos, and reports are still stored against an anonymous device identifier. Email dnnr.tech@gmail.com with your device platform and roughly what you logged, and we'll find and delete the matching data within 30 days. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Is this the official National Park Service app?
No. Stamp Rescue is an independent, fan-made app and is not affiliated with, endorsed, or sponsored by the National Park Service or the U.S. Department of the Interior.
Why do I see ads?
Stamp Rescue is a free, solo-developer app. Ads (served through Google AdMob) help cover hosting and data costs. See the Privacy Policy for what ad data is collected.
Does the app work without an internet connection?
You need a connection to sync the latest park, station, and alert data, but recently viewed parks and stations remain available offline.
